Position summary
We are seeking a hands-on Health & Safety Specialist to support INVISTA's Rozenburg site by aligning local practices with INVISTA Global standards, coaching operations and maintenance teams, delivering training and toolbox talks, leading audits and corrective action follow-up, and strengthening incident investigation and safety performance. This role requires practical experience in a 24/7 process industry environment and strong Dutch language skills for effective on-the-floor coaching.

Key responsibilities
- Translate INVISTA Global HSE standards and procedures into site-level practices; maintain and update local procedures and SOPs to ensure alignment and compliance.
- Deliver and coordinate training programmes, onboarding safety modules, task-specific training, and regular toolbox talks for operators, technicians and contractors.
- Conduct routine and targeted site audits and inspections (operational, contractor, permit-to-work, LOTO, machine safety, ATEX); raise, track and ensure timely closeout of corrective actions.
- Lead incident management: ensure prompt reporting, classify incidents, lead root cause investigations (including causal analysis and systemic actions), and implement lessons learned.
- Apply Human and Organisational Performance (HOP) principles to investigations, coaching and incident prevention.
- Monitor, analyse and report safety KPIs and leading indicators; propose and implement improvement plans to drive measurable safety performance gains.
- Act as visible safety presence on the plant floor: support job preparations, review Task Risk Assessments (TRAs), validate SOPs, and coach safe behaviours.
- Ensure compliance with Dutch and EU occupational health & safety legislation (Arbowet) and support emergency response, fire protection and crisis preparedness activities.
Build collaborative relationships across operations, maintenance, contractors and global network.

Required qualifications & experience
- HVK (Hogere Veiligheidskundige) with 3-5+ years in process industry operations is preferred; MVK (Middelbare Veiligheidskundige) with 5-7+ years experience will be considered.
- Fluency in Dutch (verbal and written) - mandatory for coaching, training and reporting.
- Practical experience with audits, corrective action management, incident investigation and KPI reporting.
- Working knowledge of permits to work (PTW), LOTOTO, machine safety, ATEX risk considerations and emergency response.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and influence operators and maintenance technicians; strong on-the-floor presence.
Proven competence in applying HOP/behavioural safety principles is a strong advantage; candidates with practical application experience in investigations, coaching or performance improvement will be prioritised.

Wij zijn op zoek naar een praktische Health & Safety Specialist ter ondersteuning van de INVISTA-locatie in Rozenburg door lokale werkwijzen af te stemmen op de wereldwijde INVISTA-standaarden, operations- en onderhoudsteams te coachen, trainingen en toolboxmeetings te verzorgen, audits en opvolging van corrigerende acties te leiden en incidentonderzoek en veiligheidsprestaties te versterken. Deze functie vraagt om praktische ervaring in de procesindustrie en een goede beheersing van de Nederlandse taal voor effectieve coaching op de werkvloer.

Belangrijkste verantwoordelijkheden

Vertalen van wereldwijde INVISTA E HS -standaarden en -procedures naar werkwijzen op site; onderhouden en actualiseren van lokale procedures en SOP's om afstemming en compliance te waarborgen.
- Verzorgen en coördineren van trainingsprogramma's, onboarding veiligheidsmodules, taakgerichte trainingen en regelmatige toolboxmeetings voor operators, technici en contractors.
- Uitvoeren van routinematige en gerichte site-audits en inspecties (operationeel, contractors, werkvergunningen, LOTO, machineveiligheid, ATEX); opstellen, volgen en tijdig afsluiten van corrigerende acties.
- Leiden van incidentmanagement: zorgen voor snelle melding, classificatie van incidenten, uitvoeren van root cause investigations (inclusief oorzaakanalyse en systemische acties) en implementeren van leerpunten.
- Toepassen van Human and Organisational Performance (HOP)-principes in onderzoeken, coaching en incidentpreventie.
- Monitoren, analyseren en rapporteren van veiligheids-KPI's en leidende indicatoren; voorstellen en implementeren van verbeterplannen om meetbare verbeteringen in veiligheidsprestaties te realiseren.
- Zichtbaar aanwezig zijn op de werkvloer: ondersteunen van werkvoorbereidingen, beoordelen van Task Risk Assessments (TRA's), valideren van SOP's en coachen van veilig gedrag.
- Borgen van compliance met Nederlandse en Europese veiligheidswetgeving (Arbowet) en ondersteunen van activiteiten op het gebied van noodrespons, brandbeveiliging en crisisvoorbereiding.
- Opbouwen van samenwerkingsrelaties met operations, maintenance, contractors en het wereldwijde netwerk.
Vereiste kwalificaties & ervaring

HVK (Hogere Veiligheidskundige) met bij voorkeur 3-5+ jaar ervaring in procesindustrie; MVK (Middelbare Veiligheidskundige) met 5-7+ jaar ervaring wordt eveneens overwogen.
- Vloeiend Nederlands (mondeling en schriftelijk) - verplicht voor coaching, training en rapportage.
- Praktische ervaring met audits, beheer van corrigerende acties, incidentonderzoek en KPI-rapportage.
- K ennis van werkvergunningen (P ermit to work ), LOTOTO, machineveiligheid, ATEX-risico's en noodrespons.
- Aantoonbare vaardigheid om operators en onderhoudstechnici te coachen en te beïnvloeden; sterke aanwezigheid op de werkvloer.
- Aantoonbare competentie in het toepassen van HOP- en veiligheidsprincipes is een sterk voordeel; kandidaten met praktische ervaring in onderzoeken, coaching of prestatieverbetering krijgen voorrang.
