The Sustainability Manager position is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering SkyTeam sustainability programs, including The Aviation Challenge (TAC), SkyTeam’s flagship sustainability initiative. The role ensures that The Challenge and other initiatives continue to deliver value to member airlines and partners by accelerating their innovation journeys, enabling knowledge sharing, and nurturing the existing sustainability ecosystem.
KEY RESULT AREAS / KEY RESPONSIBILITES
The key result areas and responsibilities for this role are as follows:

Program design, delivery and governance: Manage the end-to-end planning and delivery of sustainability programs, such as The Aviation Challenge, including program design, annual plans, timelines, milestones, governance routines, budgets, contracts, suppliers, risks, reporting and internal team coordination.

Participant experience and member engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact for sustainability counterparts at member airlines and partners, providing ongoing guidance and support, managing regular one-to-one engagement, following up on deliverables, and coordinating onboarding and offboarding activities.

Knowledge sharing and community engagement: Develop and facilitate task forces, workshops, seminars and other engagement formats; curate relevant resources and solutions; coordinate subject-matter experts; and capture and share insights, best practices and outcomes across the participant community.

Digital platform and website management: Own or coordinate the ongoing development and operation of sustainability related channels, including TheAviationChallenge.com, issue management, product backlog and roadmap, developer coordination, website performance indicators and initiatives to improve user engagement and cost efficiency.

Communications and event delivery: Coordinate program messaging and participant communications, including newsletters, presentations, handbooks, surveys, case studies and visual assets. Lead the planning and delivery of key events, covering host and vendor coordination, venue, program, speakers, invitations, registration, production and post-event content.

Growth and broader sustainability initiatives: Support participant acquisition and re-engagement, pitch materials, pricing and partnership opportunities; develop narratives and evidence around program impact; represent the initiative where appropriate; and lead or contribute to other SkyTeam sustainability projects as priorities evolve.
