What to Expect
As a Design Manager, you will join our Design and Construction Project Management teams to deliver world-class services for new Tesla showrooms, service centers, delivery hubs, bodyshops, and distribution centers across the region. You will manage and deliver individual projects with a strong focus on design, working alongside the brightest minds to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy.
We are seeking an architect or technical designer with a proven ability to think creatively and strategically. In this role, you will lead the full design lifecycle, from early feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction documentation, and project handover, for both new builds and adaptive reuse of existing Tesla facilities. A key part of your role will be producing high-quality, accurate, and construction-ready design documentation using Autodesk Revit, ensuring seamless coordination across disciplines and alignment with Tesla’s design standards.
What You'll Do-
Work with Project Managers to carry out initial due diligence on potential new sites, as well as existing locations and accurately document findings

Engage technical consultants (where required) for in depth site assessment

Review existing locations in the region and assist in the planning of remodels to maximise efficiency and ensure locations are up to brand standards, code compliance and best practices

Responsible for the creation ofbasic feasibility studies and test fit designs for potential new locations as well as existing Tesla locations

Build & manage relationships with internal & external stakeholders, getting buy-in/alignment on proposed designs
- Work with in-house Security/ IT/Project Managers & EHS to ensure alignment of their deliverable of drawings, specifications and equipment list for new locations

Create Design intent drawings within the REVIT platform

Review design intent documentation with Design Team Lead and confirm constructability and suitability to Tesla standards

Perform page turn with Architect of Records and their engineers to ensure top performance and best cost benefit solution

Manage Permit requirements with support of external vendor

Assist Project manager with creating investment figure for existing Tesla locations or CapEx for new locations

Submit approved CAPEX drawings back to Architect of Records to confirm adjustments

Creating bid package in collaboration with Project Manager

Monitor projects to ensure design intent is followed

Responsible to review and approve 3rd party invoices

Travel to existing and potential new tesla locations to perform a 3D scan of the location

Degree in architecture or construction engineering or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability

Applicable work experience in architectural design

Understanding of project scheduling and the ability to communicate and work closely with consultants to ensure that project milestones are being met on time and complete.

Proficient in REVIT and BIM 360

Understanding of standard BIM processes/best practices

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud package, full understanding of CAD applications and international drawing convention standards.
- Understanding of Construction Technical Engineering and its implementation processes

Ability to effectively execute multiple projects and tasks in parallel.

Knowledge and experience working with local building code, European Accessibility act, zoning, and other applicable laws.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex problems and distil the message into a clear plan
- Be comfortable presenting to local leadership
