Due to business expansion, GOFO is offering an opportunity for the position of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Supervisor in our Central Warehouse located in Amsterdam.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day working conditions and safety compliance at the Amsterdam facility. Assist in ensuring alignment with Dutch labor laws (Arbowet), Risk Inventory & Evaluation (RI&E), and action plans. Actively drive hazard reporting, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
- Oversee and implement fire safety prevention measures. Lead daily inspections and behavioral safety auditing for forklift compliance and automated sorting conveyor system operations to prevent operational mishaps.
- Manage on-site contractor safety and the work permit process, consistently applying risk assessments, internal regulations, and floor-level supervision.
- Monitor safety compliance during daily warehouse operations, including preventive maintenance of safety-critical equipment, ensuring the site is audit-ready, visitor-compliant, and fully operational at all times.
- Ensure emergency readiness on-site, including coordination with property management, emergency response team (BHV) staffing, fire drills, evacuation planning, and incident mitigation.
Job Requirements:
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in safety coordination (EHS/OHS) or operational supervision within a logistics, warehousing, courier, or production environment.
- Proven hands-on experience in fire safety prevention, strong knowledge of forklift operation compliance, and familiarity with safety standards for high-speed sorting machinery in warehouse environment.
- Strong field coordination, organizational, and multitasking skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving on the warehouse floor. VCA VOL certification is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) and experience supporting RI&E processes. Prior experience assisting with Dutch Labor Inspectorate (Nederlandse Arbeidsinspectie) inspections is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in Dutch is highly preferred for contacting local authorities, emergency services, and fulfilling legal obligations.
