Junior Business Controller (f/m/d)
Leiden | Full-time | as soon as possible
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Business Controller to support our finance reporting and controlling activities. In this role, you work at the intersection of finance, data, and systems, helping to ensure accurate reporting and improve our data and BI landscape. You will collaborate closely with Business Controllers, BI specialists, and stakeholders across the organization, contributing to reporting, forecasting, data quality, and process improvements. This position is fixed-term for one year.

Your tasks
Prepare recurring financial and business reports
Support forecasting, budgeting, and month-end reporting processes
Analyze financial and operational data and identify inconsistencies
Support accounting adjustments, reclasses, and data corrections
Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data (incl. FTE data)
Work with systems such as Excel, Power BI, SAP, CODA, and AFAS
Handle ad hoc reporting requests from the business
Contribute to improving reporting processes and data quality

Your profile
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or related field
1–3 years experience in finance, controlling, or accounting (preferred)
Strong Excel and good Power BI skills
Understanding of basic accounting principles
Analytical, detail-oriented, and structured working style
Comfortable working with multiple data sources and systems
Proactive, hands-on mindset with willingness to learn
Good communication skills across finance and non-finance teams
Very good command of English
