The Head of Sustainability will lead the design and execution of the company’s sustainability agenda, shaping a clear vision and translating it into actionable strategies that deliver measurable environmental and social impact. Working closely with senior leadership, this role integrates sustainability into business decision-making, ensures progress toward emissions reduction and net‑zero ambitions, and positions the company as a responsible and credible leader with stakeholders across the value chain.
1. Ownership of Measurable Environmental Outcomes
This role carries end-to-end accountability for reducing the organization’s environmental footprint. The Head of Sustainability will define carbon reduction targets, oversee Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions tracking, increase energy efficiency, and expand renewable energy adoption. Success is measured not by intent, but by credible data, progress against targets, and alignment with a clear roadmap toward net-zero emissions.
2. Enterprise-Wide Influence and Collaboration
Achieving impact requires influencing across functions rather than working in isolation. The role partners closely with HR, supply chain, facilities, and external stakeholders to embed sustainability into employee engagement, responsible sourcing, supplier diversity, and community initiatives. The ability to align diverse teams, build buy-in, and translate sustainability priorities into operational actions is critical.
3. Strong Governance, Reporting, and External Engagement
The role is a focal point for sustainability performance measurement, disclosure, and communication. This includes developing KPIs, preparing executive-level reports, assessing renewable energy and offset strategies, and engaging with NGOs, industry groups, and other partners. Candidates should expect a high level of visibility, requiring clear communication, credibility with senior leaders, and a forward-looking mindset to continuously improve sustainability practices.
