At Royal IHC, sustainability is not treated as a separate initiative but is integrated into the way we manage, govern and improve our business. As Senior Sustainability Officer, you play a pivotal role in translating ESG and CSRD requirements into practical processes, controls and reporting structures that support sustainable business performance.
In this position, you are responsible for implementing and coordinating our ESG Governance & Control Framework across the organization. You ensure that sustainability requirements are embedded in business processes, performance management, data governance and decision-making. Your focus is on execution, consistency and continuous improvement, enabling Royal IHC to meet regulatory requirements while creating measurable business value.
You act as the linking pin between various ESG stakeholders, including HSE, Finance, Procurement, HR and Legal. By creating clear ownership, reliable data structures and effective controls, you ensure that ESG objectives are translated into auditable and actionable outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of QA & Security, you will contribute to building a future-proof ESG framework that supports both compliance and long-term business success.

As Senior Sustainability Officer, you will:

Implement and maintain the ESG Governance & Control Framework across the organization.

Ensure effective governance, accountability and ownership of ESG-related topics.

Coordinate the implementation of ESG requirements with domain owners and key stakeholders.

Support and structure the double materiality assessment and ESG scope definition process.

Develop and improve ESG processes, KPI frameworks and internal controls in alignment with quality management and audit requirements.

Establish reliable data collection, validation and reporting structures, working closely with Finance to support CSRD reporting.

Define clear KPI methodologies and ensure consistency across business functions.

Coordinate internal audits and prepare the organization for external assurance activities.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on audit outcomes, management reviews and KPI performance.

Promote a structured and consistent approach to ESG governance across Royal IHC.
We are looking for a hands-on professional who combines a strong sustainability background with a structured, implementation-focused mindset.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG or environmental management within an industrial, technical or manufacturing environment.

Proven experience with ISO 14001, including implementation, maintenance or ownership of an environmental management system.

Experience translating ESG and CSRD requirements into practical business processes, controls and reporting structures.

Strong affinity with process improvement, KPI development and governance frameworks.

Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS) environment is considered an advantage.

Knowledge of data management, reporting structures and performance dashboards.

Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations.

Familiarity with internal and external audits and assurance processes.
