Join a dynamic laboratory support team where you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient delivery of essential laboratory services. This varied and hands-on role supports scientific operations through material preparation, sample management, laboratory logistics, equipment support, and operational services while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Laboratory Materials Preparation
- Prepare and label laboratory materials, including biological media, buffers, and mobile phases, in accordance with procedural documents, site requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Order and maintain inventory of materials required to manufacture requested formulations for laboratory end users.
- Prepare materials using the BMS web-based ordering system, supporting both standard and custom formulations.
- Deliver prepared orders to end users with all required documentation in compliance with BMS procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Operate laboratory equipment in accordance with approved procedures, site requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain volumetric data and provide reports as requested, demonstrating compliance with agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
- Manage, coordinate, and execute the receipt and shipment of samples, including media powders, components, buffers, and in-process samples.
- Prepare and coordinate domestic and international sample shipments to support R&D activities and site-specific requirements.
- Maintain accurate shipment records within the sample tracking system and ensure updates are made whenever shipment or sample details change.
- Ensure all shipment documentation and original paperwork are transferred to the appropriate analyst upon shipment completion.
- Manage retained samples, including storage preparation, inventory management, retrieval, logbook maintenance, and disposal of samples as required.
- Support the accurate storage and disposal of in-process samples in accordance with established procedures.
- Manage and coordinate the filling of external liquid nitrogen reserve tanks in compliance with site procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Manage and execute glassware maintenance, autoclave, and parts washer services in accordance with site procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain adequate working stock levels of laboratory glassware.
- Collect glassware and materials from designated laboratory locations for washing and sterilization on a daily basis.
- Process, autoclave, seal (where required), and return materials to designated locations within agreed timelines.
- Hand wash, rinse, and thoroughly dry delicate glassware, laboratory apparatus, and tubing assemblies.
- Perform quality inspections of all glassware to ensure cleanliness and identify damaged items requiring disposal.
- Maintain sufficient stocks of detergents and other cleaning supplies.
- Track workflow volumes and provide reporting to demonstrate achievement of service level agreements.
- Perform instrument performance verification for laboratory equipment, including cell counters, nutrient metabolite analysers, pH meters, pipettes, balances, and liquid handling systems.
- Coordinate, execute, and document routine preventive maintenance, servicing, and repair activities with approved vendors.
- Ensure equipment maintenance activities are completed within required timeframes to support MS&T and AS&T laboratory operations.
- Execute a variety of laboratory deliveries, including buffers, shipments, glassware, laboratory materials, and other operational supplies.
- Ensure the timely and accurate transportation of materials across laboratory facilities.
- Provide sample duty services during weekends to ensure continuity of laboratory operations.
- Support assigned team activities and complete operational tasks within required timelines.
