Your Role as a Barista
As a barista at The Matcha Society, you are the face of the bar. You ensure that every matcha and latte is prepared with attention, precision, and style.
You should be able to:
- Prepare and serve premium matcha drinks according to fixed recipes and visual standards.
- Create consistent and refined latte art (hearts, tulips, wavy art).
- Master milk steaming (both dairy and plant-based) to create velvety microfoam for the perfect texture.
- Think like a specialty barista: you understand temperature, extraction, balance, and presentation.
- Know how to maintain coffee equipment and ensure everything functions perfectly.
- Advise guests about our matcha, its origin, and our products.
- Keep the bar, workspace, and equipment in excellent condition.
- Keep a positive mentality under pressure and unexpected circumstances.
- Work with open and closing list to make sure everything keeps to our high standards.
- Work under horeca pressure and thrive in a fast paste environment.
- Work in a proactive team that aims to give every customer the full Matcha Society experience.
