General information
Corporate Treasury is the in-house bank of ABB and responsible for managing the financial exposures of ABB group. As the main interface between ABB and the external financial world, Corporate Treasury is the central entry point for most financial activities of ABB companies.
The ABB group has substantial long-term pension liabilities in different countries worldwide which normally are funded with assets in stand-alone local pension funds. Pension Management has the responsibility for the overall asset and risk management of the pension plans for the group. The Pension Management team manages the strategic and – together with the country finance/pension responsible/board of trustees – the operative actions for the group pension exposures.
Your responsibilities
- Explore and pilot AI-driven solutions, LLMs (Large Language Models), or smart automation workflows (e.g., Power Automate, Python scripts) to streamline pension reporting and controls.
- Enhance internal control efficiency by exploring AI use cases for automated internal control activities.
- Support pension management team on the year-end US GAAP annual closing activities.
Your background
- You are currently in university studying Computer Science, Financial Technology (FinTech), Business Analytics, or Actuarial.
- You are available from September 2026 till end of January 2027 for 32 hours a week.
- Strong, proactive interest in emerging technologies and willingness to explore AI, LLMs, or automation solutions.
- Basic knowledge & understanding of Accounting, Controlling, and Finance.
- Fluent in English and able to work with diverse international teams.
- Ability to work independently.
What do we offer
A fun and challenging graduation internship in which you get the opportunity to work in an international organisation. We offer an internship allowance of €650 gross (HBO) or €750 gross (University/WO) based on 40 hours. You can also count on a fixed day off per month. Travel expenses? No problem. We reimburse 50% of your travel costs in addition to your student OV.
The location where you will carry out your work is ABB Rotterdam.
