We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at Veda Nepalese and Indian Restaurant. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of authentic Nepalese and Indian cuisine, leadership skills, creativity in menu preparation, and the ability to maintain high food quality and kitchen standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and manage kitchen staff efficiently
- Prepare and supervise authentic Nepalese and Indian dishes
- Develop and improve menu items while maintaining traditional flavors
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and consistency at all times
- Monitor food inventory, ordering, and stock control
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards according to regulations
- Train, motivate, and supervise chefs and kitchen assistants
- Manage kitchen schedules and workflow during busy service hours
- Minimize food waste and control kitchen costs
- Coordinate with management regarding menu planning and customer feedback
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in Nepalese and/or Indian cuisine
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent knowledge of spices, traditional cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
- Creative, organized, and detail-oriented
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- English communication skills required; additional languages are a plus
