Do you enjoy running production Kubernetes and are AI agents already part of your day-to-day toolkit, not something to fear? At BridgeFund, we’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to build and operate the cloud-native platform behind our automated lending and our in-house agentic AI operating system. You’ll help keep the infrastructure reliable and secure for thousands of lending decisions, our engineering teams, and an increasing number of AI agents.
Your role
This is the senior-most rung on our platform engineering ladder. You own and evolve the platform end to end, with wide decision-making latitude. You're the internal go-to for platform, infrastructure and security, you set the technical direction for how engineers (and the agents working alongside them) build, and your decisions have company-wide impact. You won't just keep the lights on; you'll redesign how we work.
Our whole business, from a loan application to a funding decision, runs on a cloud-native platform on AWS: EKS, Istio, Flux GitOps, Terraform, Helm, and our own in-house-built cloud infrastructure operator that provisions cloud resources (queues, buckets and more) declaratively, straight from Kubernetes. On that same platform runs our agentic AI operating system and the AI infrastructure behind it. And yes — you'll build with agentic coding tools every day. Most of our platform team already does.
Your responsibilities
-
Set the technical direction for how BridgeFund engineers, and the agents working alongside them, build and operate software.
-
Build the AI-native developer experience: ephemeral per-MR environments, golden paths, Backstage self-service and shared CI/CD templates, so every team ships with less friction.
-
Run and scale the infrastructure behind our agentic AI operating system, context retrieval, LLM observability, MCP tooling and model access on Amazon Bedrock.
-
Make us secure and compliant by design: OPA authorization, Istio mTLS, IRSA, Cognito and secrets management baked into the platform, not bolted on.
-
Drive bold architectural change, our GitOps direction, self-service infrastructure and golden path, challenging standard approaches and weighing long-term trade-offs.
-
Align stakeholders across departments and the leadership team, anticipate cross-team tensions, and warn affected teams before they feel the change.
-
Raise the team's bar: mentor engineers and, where it applies, guide one or two of them day to day.
What you bring
- Minimum 5 years of senior platform / DevOps / SRE experience running Kubernetes in production (EKS a plus), with a track record of platform decisions that had company-level impact.
-
Strong infrastructure-as-code and GitOps discipline — Terraform, Helm, Flux or Argo CD — and solid CI/CD (GitLab a plus).
-
You're genuinely AI-native: agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, and friends) are already part of how you build, and you're excited to push that frontier rather than skeptical of it. This is the mindset we care about most.
-
A security- and reliability-first instinct: you think about blast radius, least privilege and observability before things break.
-
A first-principles thinker and an owner who operates with wide latitude: you finish things, you write the runbook, you warn affected teams, and you're comfortable being the internal go-to and raising the team's bar.
-
Bonus: hands-on experience deploying or operating AI/LLM infrastructure — vector stores, RAG, LLM observability, MCP, or Bedrock/OpenAI.
Don't tick every box? Tell us anyway- we hire for trajectory and judgement, not a checklist. That's usually how the best engineers start here.
Who we are
While small businesses drive the economy, when it comes to financing, traditional systems still move at the speed of paper. We founded BridgeFund in 2018 to change that. We've stripped away the bureaucracy: an entrepreneur applies in just five minutes, and our advanced technology processes the data quickly and efficiently. By combining cutting-edge automation with real human logic, we make financing decisions that are both fast and fair. We grew 55% last year and have proudly fast-tracked over €700 million in loans to entrepreneurs. Our next goal? To scale our data capabilities by making our platform even sharper, ensuring support for the next generation of entrepreneurs
