We at Shimano are looking for Product Compliance Specialist with the expertise in Chemical domain. This role requires an experienced, hands on product compliance professional who can translate EU regulatory requirements into operational and scalable processes. The successful candidate will not inherit a fully mature system. They will build, structure, document, and continuously improve compliance workflows across REACH, CLP, RoHS, WFD, SVHC communication, PFAS and SCIP reporting.
The role combines regulatory expertise, data discipline, and process ownership. It is execution driven and heavy accountability.

Building and maintaining REACH tonnage tracking processes, reporting structure, and early warning indicators.

Implementing CLP workflows, including classification reviews, SDS governance, labeling requirements, and packaging checks.

Establishing PFAS compliance workflows, including supplier data collectionand regulatory readiness for future restrictions.

Monitoring new and upcoming product legislation and translating it into impact assessments and actionable internal steps.

Creating templates, checklists, decision trees, and tracking tools to support consistent execution.

Actively requesting, verifying, challenging, and correcting supplier compliance data.
Stakeholder and Interface Management and Ownership Capabilities

Ability to work independently while coordinating across Product Management, R&D, Quality, Legal, and Supply Chain.

Experience pushing back on suppliers and internal stakeholders when data quality or timeliness is insufficient.

Demonstrated experience creating compliance processes from scratch or significantly reworking immature ones.

Comfortable defining roles and responsibilities, triggers, timelines, and ownership across multiple stakeholders.

Knowledgeable in European Regulations and EU Member State national regulations with typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in product and chemical compliance.

Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is definitely a plus.

Experience in complex product portfolios and multitier supply chains is preferred.

Highly structured and detail‑oriented, with the ability to manage multiple parallel product and regulatory tracks.

Pragmatic mindset, focused on workable solutions rather than theoretical perfection.

Independence with strong sense of ownership. If a process fails, this role is expected to fix it.
