What to Expect
As a Senior Software Applications Engineer, you will focus on our Software Application systems intended for, but not limited to, the European market. This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced, global environment where your expertise drives operational excellence. You'll blend incident management, data analysis, and coding solutions to support our users, ensuring the successful implementation and management of services in production environments. Providing Applications support, you'll maintain high standards of quality, security, and compliance while tackling urgent changes with excellent problem-solving skills and business acumen. This position requires multitasking in a collaborative setting, mentoring and leading others, and contributing to continuous improvement.
What You'll Do-
Understand and own the end-to-end integration of Tesla's Software Application systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business operations, product owners, software engineers, quality assurance, and release teams, to own cases from inception to deployment.

Work through tickets received from business users and external business partners of globally distributed locations

Create workarounds for issues that require immediate solutions if a permanent resolution is not immediately available, and document troubleshooting guides. Investigate root causes of system defects to drive continual improvement, demonstrating curiosity in uncovering edge cases, rare situations, and hidden dependencies for system’s resilience.

Develop automations and monitoring process to optimize utilization of Software Application systems. Provide improvement recommendations based on best practices, industry standards, and emerging trends to enhance system performance.

Work as an incident commander of production critical calls that require coordination between cross-functional teams or external business partners

Work independently within a team, taking an active approach in a globally distributed environment. Continually learn, apply software best practices, tools, and technologies
What You'll Bring-
Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent experience

Extensive years of Application support engineering experience working in a globally distributed enterprise level systems. Must be able to understand Microservice architecture, integrated systems, API concepts, Data integrations, and their dependencies.

Extensive years of strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database management system

Intermidate years of experience with Python, Go or any equivalent software development language

2 years of experience with messaging queues (e.g. Kafka and RabbitMQ)

2 years of experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and Incident/Defect management ticketing tools

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
