Are you technically minded, creative and eager to learn? As a Junior Design Engineer, you will contribute to challenging projects within the international gas turbine industry and develop into a fully-fledged Design Engineer. Together with experienced colleagues, you will help create innovative solutions for customers worldwide.
What will you do?
As a Junior Design Engineer, you will be part of our Technical Design department. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, you will work on designing, developing and improving technical components, structures, tools and systems. You will be involved throughout the entire process, from concept to realization. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and modifying 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings;
- Translating technical requirements into practical and manufacturable designs;
- Applying dimensions, tolerances, fits and material choices;
- Checking designs for functionality, manufacturability and assembly;
- Contributing ideas on materials and production methods, such as machining, welding, sheet metal work and 3D printing;
- Carrying out basic technical calculations and preparing BOMs and technical documentation;
- Processing changes and revisions;
- Analyzing and improving existing components and structures;
- Supporting reverse engineering, design reviews and technical queries;
- Maintaining contact with production and suppliers regarding manufacturability and execution.
What do we ask of you?
You are technically curious, solution-oriented and driven to keep developing yourself. You work accurately, take responsibility and enjoy collaborating on technical challenges. Experience is a plus, but certainly not a requirement. As a Junior Design Engineer, you will receive plenty of guidance from experienced colleagues and the opportunity to grow step by step into an independent engineer working on increasingly complex technical challenges. In any case, you have:
- A completed MBO level 4 or HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field;
- Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software and modelling components and assemblies;
- Experience creating and reading technical drawings;
- Basic knowledge of dimensions, tolerances, fits and GD&T/ISO-GPS;
- Knowledge of materials and production techniques, such as machining, welding, sheet metal work and 3D printing;
- Good technical insight and affinity with mechanical structures and machine components;
- Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.
