We are currently looking for an experienced Warehouse Planner for an opportunity in the Netherlands. This role is suitable for a structured and proactive professional with strong experience in warehouse planning, logistics coordination, transport planning, and daily operational support.
Position Overview
The Warehouse Planner will be responsible for the daily planning of warehouse operations and coordination of incoming and outgoing goods, equipment, and materials. The role involves close collaboration with warehouse teams, logistics, supply chain coordination, and operational stakeholders to ensure an efficient and effective workflow.
The position requires strong planning skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage logistics requests, work orders, transport planning, customs-related documentation, and operational instructions. Safety, compliance, and accurate communication are important aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Planning & Operations
- Responsible for the daily planning of warehouse activities.
- Coordinate warehouse workflows to ensure efficient and effective operations.
- Work closely with warehouse teams and local supervisors to align planning with operational priorities.
- Monitor progress of warehouse activities and ensure timely follow-up.
- Support the processing, storage, and movement of equipment, materials, and parts.
- Ensure the warehouse team receives clear instructions for operational execution. • Maintain an organized planning structure and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure safety requirements are considered in daily warehouse planning.
Logistics & Transport Coordination
- Follow up on work orders and logistics requests from the organization.
- Plan transport movements to and from various destinations.
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization activities for operational projects.
- Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to keep planning accurate and up to date.
- Ensure transport and warehouse planning are aligned with project and business requirements.
- Track logistics progress and support resolution of planning or operational issues.
Customs, Compliance & Documentation
- Submit customs clearance requests to customs agents when required.
- Support compliance with relevant authorities and regulations.
- Coordinate the handling and documentation of customs-related goods.
- Monitor processing of dangerous goods in containers where applicable.
- Ensure operational activities are carried out in line with internal procedures and external compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to warehouse planning, transport, and logistics activities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Communicate regularly with warehouse teams, logistics, supply chain coordination, and operational stakeholders.
- Act as a key point of contact for warehouse planning-related queries.
- Provide timely updates regarding planning, transport, work orders, and logistics requests.
- Support process improvements related to warehouse planning and logistics coordination.
- Ensure all relevant teams are informed of planning changes and operational priorities.
Skills & Requirements
- Minimum MBO diploma, preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in logistics planning, warehouse planning, or maritime operations.
- Experience with warehouse workflows, transport coordination, and operational planning.
- Good understanding of logistics processes, work orders, and planning requirements.
- Knowledge of customs processes and dangerous goods handling is an advantage.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Able to work closely with warehouse, logistics, and supply chain teams.
- Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive working approach.
- Good command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Able to work independently and follow up on operational deadlines.
- Must be authorized to work in the Netherlands.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in logistics planning within a warehouse or operational environment.
- Experience in maritime, offshore, industrial, or technical logistics environments.
- Knowledge of customs clearance processes and documentation.
- Experience coordinating mobilization and demobilization activities.
- Experience working with warehouse teams, transport providers, and supply chain stakeholders.
- Familiarity with safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements in logistics operations.
