About the role
As a Declarant, you play an essential role in ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant handling of customs declarations for import, export, and transit activities. This role supports smooth cross-border operations by preparing, reviewing, and submitting documentation in line with national and EU regulations.
You work closely with internal teams, customs authorities, and external partners to maintain compliance, reduce delays, and improve processes. The position combines technical customs expertise with problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
For this role, candidates must be based in the Netherlands, ideally able to commute by car to our Waalwijk site, and available to work on-site five days a week (Monday - Friday).
How you will contribute

Prepare, review, and submit electronic import, export, and transit declarations to customs authorities

Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with applicable regulations and internal policies

Maintain and update customs files, ensuring all required records are properly stored and accessible

Monitor transit and export processes to confirm timely clearance and proof of goods leaving the EU

Review and maintain product and shipment data in systems to support bonded warehouse operations

Identify discrepancies in shipment or customs data and update records accordingly

Support periodic declarations and follow up on outstanding or delayed clearances with relevant parties

Contribute to internal audits and compliance checks, documenting findings clearly

Collaborate with customs authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and improve processes

Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings or operational improvements
What you will bring

Diploma or degree in customs (Declarant) is strongly preferred, along with relevant, demonstrable experience in a customs-related role.

Solid knowledge of EU and national customs regulations, procedures, and documentation requirements

Experience preparing and processing customs declarations in a digital environment

Familiarity with customs systems and standard office tools for documentation and reporting

Clear communication skills for working with internal teams, authorities, and external partners

Ability to solve problems in a practical and timely way while maintaining compliance

Good command of English (written and spoken)
