What to Expect
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Application Engineer to join Tesla's Application Support team. The ideal candidate will have a good balance of building relationships with business users, solving technical problems and knowledge of enterprise level systems.
What You'll Do-
Understand and own the end-to-end integration of Tesla's Software Application systems

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business operations, product owners, software engineers, quality assurance, and release teams, to own cases from inception to deployment
- Work through tickets received from business users of globally distributed locations

Create workarounds for issues that require immediate solutions if a permanent resolution is not immediately available, and document troubleshooting guides. Investigate root causes of system defects to drive continual improvement, demonstrating curiosity in uncovering edge cases, rare situations, and hidden dependencies for system’s resilience.

Develop automations and monitoring process to optimize utilization of Software Application systems. Provide improvement recommendations based on best practices, industry standards, and emerging trends to enhance system performance.
- Work as an incident commander of production critical calls that require coordination between cross-functional teams or external business partners

Work independently within a team, taking an active approach in a globally distributed environment. Continually learn, apply software best practices, tools, and technologies
What You'll Bring-
Degree in an Engineering field or equivalent experience

+4 years of Application support engineering experience working in a globally distributed enterprise level systems. Must be able to understand Microservice architecture, integrated systems, API concepts, Data integrations, and their dependencies.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational database management system

Experience with Python, Go or other software development language

Application support engineering experience working in a software system utilizing OpenChargePointInterface (OCPI) framework.

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk and Incident/Defect management ticketing tools
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
