We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager, Corporate Reputation to join our Amsterdam team. This is an opportunity for an experienced corporate communications professional to manage sizable client work, lead account teams and provide strategic counsel to companies and brands operating in the full glare of the public spotlight.
What you’ll work on
As a Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving strong client service, quality control and operational performance across multiple corporate reputation workstreams. You will help lead integrated programs that build commercial value, strengthen trust and support clients through complex reputational opportunities and challenges.
You will:
- Act as a senior day-to-day client contact across corporate reputation accounts, providing confident counsel and ensuring high-quality delivery
- Lead the research, planning and development of integrated Corporate Reputation programs, including positioning, narratives, message workshops, stakeholder mapping, media strategy, thought leadership and issues management
- Oversee account teamwork quality and operational performance, ensuring deadlines are met and program execution maps to client objectives and budgets
- Counsel clients on strategic communications across PR, digital, social, content, earned media and stakeholder engagement
- Lead media relations strategy, including outreach planning, executive thought leadership, spokesperson preparation, event support and senior media engagement
- Draft, review and elevate communications materials, including strategic plans, press materials, executive briefings, Q&As, proposals and client recommendations
- Use research, analytics and insight as performance indicators and to inform strategic recommendations
- Apply AI-enabled tools and Edelman’s responsible AI approach to support research, analysis, content development, media intelligence and campaign delivery, ensuring outputs are accurate, ethical, transparent and guided by human judgement
- Help clients and teams use AI responsibly across research, reputation intelligence, stakeholder analysis, content strategy and campaign execution, applying Edelman’s principles of trust, transparency, accountability and human oversight
- Identify opportunities for integration across Edelman practices, sectors and geographies, bringing the best of the network to clients
- Manage account finances responsibly, including scope, budgets, time allocation, budget versus actuals and delivery against revenue targets
- Support organic growth by introducing clients to relevant Edelman capabilities and identifying new areas of opportunity
- Contribute to new business by helping shape RFP responses, proposals, pitch strategy and cross-practice teams
- Mentor, coach and motivate team members, setting clear expectations and helping junior colleagues grow through feedback, delegation and development planning
What you bring
You are an experienced corporate communications professional with strong strategic judgement, excellent client handling skills and the ability to lead teams through complex work.
You will ideally have:
- At least five years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing, corporate communications, corporate reputation, public relations, strategic media relations or a related field
- Experience managing large projects and teams across multiple sizable client accounts
- A strong understanding of how corporate reputation shapes business outcomes, stakeholder trust and commercial value
- Experience advising companies or brands on reputation-building campaigns, issues management and complex stakeholder environments
- An understanding of how Corporate Reputation intersects with Public Affairs, Financial Communications, Sustainability, Brand, Consumer and Employee Engagement
- Strong knowledge of the Dutch and international business media landscape, with relevant media and stakeholder relationships
- Superior writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex business, societal or reputational issues into clear, compelling communications
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to provide clear, confident counsel to senior clients
- Experience working across integrated teams, international brands and multi-market programs
- Proven ability to manage budgets, deadlines, quality standards and team performance
- A collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with the ability to inspire teams and develop junior colleagues
- Fluency in Dutch, required for this role
- Excellent business English, both spoken and written
- Strong understanding of how AI is shaping communications, reputation and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to guide teams and clients in using AI-enabled tools responsibly, creatively and effectively while maintaining quality, accuracy, transparency and trust
Working at Edelman Amsterdam
This is a hybrid role based in Amsterdam. Edelman Amsterdam follows a hybrid approach, with employees expected to work at least 60% of their time from the office based on a full-time contract. Our regular office hours are 9:00–17:30, with flexibility in working hours where agreed with your line manager, operations and team.
