Local Walking Tour Guide (H/F) – Amsterdam

Contract Type: Freelance / Independent Contractor
Compensation: €120 per day + performance-based bonuses
About the Role
We are currently looking for a local guide based in Amsterdam to accompany small groups of international visitors during walking tours of the city.
The role involves introducing visitors to Amsterdam’s neighborhoods, culture, history, and points of interest while providing a welcoming and professional experience.
No professional guiding license is required. We are looking for individuals with strong local knowledge, good communication skills, and an interest in interacting with visitors.
Responsibilities
- Lead walking tours in Amsterdam lasting approximately 3 to 8 hours
- Share information about local culture, history, landmarks, and daily life
- Adapt each tour according to visitors’ interests and pace
- Answer visitor questions and provide general recommendations
- Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere throughout the experience
Requirements
- Currently based in Amsterdam
- Good knowledge of Amsterdam and its main areas
- Comfortable interacting with international visitors
- Fluent in at least one of the following languages:
- English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, or Chinese
- Reliable, professional, and punctual
- Comfortable walking for several hours
