Job Summary
Description:
The Automation Engineer GAHM IT (Global Animal Health Manufacturing IT) supports the realization of value through understanding business processes, followed by identification, implementation and realization of appropriate and right-sized IT and automation solutions at the GAHM site operations. The Automation engineer will act as a bridge between business challenges and technology solutions and will maintain a close relationship with a network of global platforms and teams in Animal Health and IT as well as the engineering, automation and operational teams at the site. Additionally, the Automation engineer GAHM IT will assure full and continuous compliancy with regulatory and company requirements, for example CSV and SDLC.
Responsibilities:
- Solves organizational problems by analyzing business requirements, documenting processes and designing IT and automation solutions in manufacturing by following a structured approach and methodology
- Maps and models business processes and enterprise information specific to the business area
- Collaborates in implementation projects to ensure delivery according to the agreed timelines, quality and budget
- Designs, engineers and implements industrial automation and process control systems
- Works closely with internal and external partners e.g. Site and Global Engineering, business representatives and suppliers.
- Creates and maintains documentation according to the MSD System Development LifeCycle methodology
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business information systems or related discipline, or equivalent and extensive related project experience in automation
- Ability to rapidly adapt to and apply changing technology
- Strong business acumen, and easy rapport with peers and executives
- Able to think out of the box on situation dependent issues;
- Organizational savvy; leveraging social network to escape hierarchy. Adept at managing diverse relationships across expertise, geography and culture.
- Open and receptive to listening, and discerning pain points; Embraces new ideas, evidence and fosters a collaborative atmosphere
- Eager to participate in the implementation of Manufacturing Systems in Pharma/Biopharma/Medical Devices
- Able to work with independently
- Automation domain knowledge (ISA 95 level 2/3, PLC’s, SCADA, PCS7 etc.)
- Experience in the pharmaceutical (GxP) or similar industr
Key Responsibilities
1. To be responsible for providing technical guidance / solutions ;define, advocate, and implement best practices and coding standards for the team.
2. To develop and guide the team members in enhancing their technical capabilities and increasing productivity
3. To ensure process compliance in the assigned module| and participate in technical discussions/review as a technical consultant for feasibility study (technical alternatives, best packages, supporting architecture best practices, technical risks, breakdown into components, estimations).
4. To prepare and submit status reports for minimizing exposure and risks on the project or closure of escalations.
