Since the inception of IOM in 1951, Movement Operations have been and continue to be a fundamental pillar of the Organization’s work. The organized movement of persons in need of international migration assistance is a primary mandate of the Organization and a cornerstone of IOM’s operations. Movement Operations Units in various IOM Country Offices, coordinated under the Resettlement and Movement Management (RMM) Division in the Department of Mobility Pathways and Inclusion (DMPI) at IOM’s Geneva Headquarters, are responsible for all aspects of travel for migrants and refugees under IOM’s auspices, in accordance with the various framework agreements with resettlement and receiving Governments and partners across the spectrum of the Organization's programmes.'
Under the overall supervision of the Coordinator for the Caribbean and direct supervision of Program Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the Project Implementation Activities in Oranjestad, Aruba.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Plan and coordinate the implementation of operational activities of the office, ensuring that procedures for carrying out projects meet IOM standards; develop and maintain effective project monitoring procedures.
2. Maintain project correspondence and communication.
3.Draft regular and special reports covering IOM activities in the country; prepare briefings and background information as required, including specific information requested by the Government and other entities.
4.Oversee the implementation of the DTM in Aruba according to the global DTM methodology, including but not limited to Biometric Registration and Verification and Flow Monitoring ensuring proper adaptation to the context.
5.Coordinate the liaison with Government partners, donors, the UN, and civil society partners.
6.Prepare agendas and arrange relevant field visits, appointments, and meetings, internal and external related to the project activities and write minutes from the meetings.
7.Plan, coordinate and implement training sessions, workshops, meetings, and other activities about IOM projects/programs.
8.Coordinate and supervise administrative procedures required to implement project activities successfully.
9.Monitor the implementation of activities to achieve project outcomes according to the budget.
10.Supervise the data collection process for all project activities and verify the data collected to ensure consistency.
11.Analyze data and develop reports based on specified standards and templates.
12.Undertake duty travel for project implementation purposes.
13.Assist in developing new programs and implementing them closely with the relevant authorities, public/private entities, and other IOM offices.
14.Plan and coordinate activities with R4V partners.
15.Supervise/manage the team in Aruba.
16.Assist in developing project proposals to obtain funding for the Mission.
17.Perform other project-related duties as assigned.
