Project Manager Engineering

As a Project Manager Engineering at Vuyk Engineering, you are responsible for the successful execution of complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects within the maritime and offshore industry. You combine strong project management skills with a solid engineering background, enabling you to effectively manage both the technical and organisational aspects of projects.
In this role, you take ownership of projects across Vuyk’s full scope of services and engineering disciplines: Vessel Design, Equipment Design, Temporary Steel Design, and Methods Engineering. You are capable of overseeing projects that integrate multiple disciplines, ensuring alignment between engineering solutions, client requirements, and project constraints.
You act as the key interface between clients, engineering teams, and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and efficient collaboration throughout all project phases — from concept development and tendering to detailed engineering and project delivery. With your technical expertise and pragmatic mindset, you guide teams in making sound engineering decisions while maintaining control over planning, budget, risks, and quality. You play a crucial role in delivering innovative and reliable solutions that meet the high standards of Vuyk Engineering and its clients.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage large-scale, multidisciplinary engineering projects
- Support tender processes and cost estimations
- Define project scope, deliverables, and execution strategies
- Develop and manage schedules, budgets, and resources
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures
- Oversee technical quality and review engineering deliverables
- Act as the primary client contact and manage stakeholder relationships
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures
What we ask:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, or a related field
- 15+ years of experience, including several years in engineering roles
- Proven experience managing complex engineering projects in the maritime industry
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary and international environments
