Logistics Procurement & Distribution Specialist

Purpose of the Role The Logistics Procurement Specialist is responsible for driving operational performance and strict cost control across all external warehouses, 3PL partners, and freight forwarders within Hoshizaki supply chain network. This role supports the Distribution team by providing expertise on warehouse operations and responding to logistics-related inquiries from Hoshizaki branches. This role ensures that both warehousing and transportation activities are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with Hoshizaki’s MTBP objectives. The position combines hands-on performance management with strong procurement ownership, focusing on continuous improvement, cost optimization, and accountability of logistics partners
Tasks and Responsibilities
· Monitor and actively manage operational KPIs across warehouses, 3PL partners, and freight forwarders.
· Drive performance improvement initiatives and ensure corrective actions are implemented
· Attend monthly and quarterly performance reviews with logistics partners
· Ensure full compliance with agreed SLA performance levels
· Standardize performance measurement across all logistics partners
· Control warehousing, transportation, and freight costs across Hoshizaki Supply Chain Network
· Analyze cost drivers including storage, handling, and freight rates
· Validate invoices and challenge additional charges from 3PLs and freight forwarders
· Drive continuous cost reduction initiatives (transport + warehousing)
· Build and maintain full cost transparency across logistics operations
· Benchmark warehousing and freight rates against market standards
· Manage contract lifecycle including renewals and renegotiations
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders: Logistics, Sales, Finance, Planning, and Distribution
· Support the Distribution team in warehouse-related topics and operational alignment
· Provide guidance and solutions for branch inquiries.
· Contribute to improving communication and processes between warehouses and branches
· Lead continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and transport network
Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field and has 5 to 7 years of experience in Logistics/Supply Chain.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and change/optimization processes is a big plus. In addition the candidate has:
- Proven experience with procurement or supplier management (logistics services)
- Strong analytical skills with focus on cost and performance.
- Experience in KPI-driven environments
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Written and oral communication in Dutch and English
- Excellent Excel skills
- Willingness to travel
