OVERVIEW
The Service Support Engineer is responsible for assisting the Operational Service Team in the successful delivery of field service activities by ensuring they are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Key responsibilities include managing job preparation, planning and scheduling of parts and tools, and supporting service call closeout activities. The role also provides direct support to Service Technicians in the field and contributes to their ongoing training and development.
DUTIES
Core duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the scheduling and oversight of all Service Department equipment, job site boxes, and service vehicles.
- Procure, organize, store, and maintain equipment required by the Operational Service Team.
- Prepare and maintain job site boxes as needed for service activities.
- Calibrate tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Organize and manage service vehicle inventory and ensure readiness for deployment.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and stored according to company and safety regulations.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Service Supervisor and Service Technicians.
- Generate equipment, inventory, and other reports as required.
- Return unused parts to the warehouse and complete related documentation.
- Coordinate the return of job site boxes following the completion of service calls.
- Verify parts availability and track incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Support invoice preparation and documentation for completed service activities.
- Assist in training Service Technicians.
- Provide feedback, technical assistance, and coaching to team members encouraging growth and consistent performance.
- Any and all duties as reasonably assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
- Completed technical MBO education, preferably at MBO Level 4 or higher.
- 1+ years of experience servicing stabilizers on marine vessels is preferred.
- 1+ years of experience with electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on marine vessels is preferred.
- Experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) database is preferred.
- Intuitive ability to use tablets, smartphones, and various software applications to perform tasks and stay in communication with Management.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.

- Detail oriented with the ability to accurately multi-task in order to meet deadlines.
- Proactive, and collaborative attitude with the ability to work well with all levels of Company employees, shipyard customers, vessel customers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Well-developed spatial ability to maintain optimal and compartmentalized work environment.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret a variety of common and uncommon technical documents, drawings and instructions in diagram form and deal with several abstract and fixed variables (i.e. hydraulic schematics, AutoCAD drawings, etc.).
TRAVEL
This position works primarily from the main office. Occasional travel may be required. The ability and willingness to travel is required. A valid passport is a required.

This position is primarily office-based and requires the regular use of standard office equipment, including computers, telephones, printers, and other office technology. Occasionally, the employee may perform tasks in the warehouse or manufacturing area, such as inspecting, preparing, calibrating, or maintaining tools and equipment in support of service operations. These activities may involve the use of hand tools and power tools. The role may also require the occasional lifting or moving of parts, tools, or materials. Physical demands are generally light to moderate but may require lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds. Appropriate training and personal protective equipment will be provided when required.
