The energy transition needs you as an intern
During this internship, you develop and validate a method to derive medium voltage from local grid data. You investigate which data and modelling approach are required and assess the accuracy and applicability of the solution. You deliver a prototype algorithm, a comparison of methods, and a well-founded recommendation on implementation within Alliander, including preconditions and identified bottlenecks.
We make the energy grid of the future for everyone, together with everyone. As an intern in Net Data & Modelling, you contribute to this. You will:
Learn, develop, and gain experience within a professional environment
Analyse existing calculation methods and compare variants with and without additional data
Develop models and validate results across different parts of the grid
Inventory data sources and identify bottlenecks in data, modelling, and implementation
Quantify accuracy and translate results into a prototype algorithm and recommendation
You complete our network
Did you know that Alliander is made up of different business units? With our large group of talented professionals, we develop and manage the energy grid for millions of people and businesses in the Netherlands. Everything we do, we do with an eye on the people who rely on us: our customers. And thanks to our talents, we have the utmost confidence in the energy future of the Netherlands. Together with you, we make the energy transition possible, for and with our customers.
You will work with two departments: OT-Hub and Systems Operations. As a strategic and technical hub within Alliander, OT-Hub develops, distributes, and manages data services that enable measurement and control of the energy network.
The System Operations, Research & Innovation department consists of specialists in energy systems, grid data, modelling, and operational grid management. Within this team, you work with experts focusing on voltage information and practical grid applications. We work in a hybrid way at Alliander (partly in the office, partly from home).
You energise our network
We will help you get to know the world of business while also working on your personal development. You will learn from us and we will learn from your critical perspective, especially if you combine this with:
A WO degree in Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or (Applied) Mathematics.
Experience with modelling.
Knowledge of data analysis using Python.
Knowledge of electricity physics and/or electrical engineering.
Attractive intern allowance and benefits package
What's in it for you?
An internship allowance of €550 per month based on a 40-hour workweek.
A laptop and, if required for the assignment, a phone.
No student travel card? Then you receive a travel reimbursement.
