The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) is looking for a
Policy Officer/Researcher Quality Assurance (0.8 FTE)
Vacancy number: 26-040
What will you do
As Policy Officer/Researcher Quality Assurance, you provide the information on which policy decisions can be based. The opinions of stakeholders (students, alumni, lecturers, professional field) about education, and other relevant (management) information, are essential for effective internal quality assurance and policy support. You conduct research into this independently and in consultation with the educational departments.
Research at KABK is carried out in-house as much as possible, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The sometimes unique and distinctive character of the education is central to KABK, without losing sight of the statutory requirements. Conducting research and collecting information is not a goal, what matters most is what we as an organisation can learn from it. As policy officer/researcher, you therefore play a major role in interpreting all information.
You are part of the Quality and Educational Development Office (EDO) and report to the head of the department. You have frequent contact with heads and coordinators of the educational departments and with colleagues from other staff departments. Where relevant, you also serve as a point of contact for individual lecturers and students.
Your main responsibilities
You advise the educational departments and contribute to proposals for management regarding the deployment of evaluation instruments for educational policy and quality assurance;
You independently develop research questions into a concrete design, choose the appropriate research method, and ensure the execution of the research;
You produce the accompanying reports, place the results in a relevant context, and contribute to the interpretation within the framework of the policy cycle;
Where applicable, you supervise research carried out by external parties on behalf of KABK;
You manage the research software (Evasys);
You connect research results to the (quality) policy of KABK and the University of the Arts, and contribute to the development of relevant quality indicators;
You ensure accessible documentation and archiving of the conducted research and its results;
You make proposals for the development of quality assurance and the promotion of a quality culture.
Your profile
We are looking for someone who is analytically strong, able to work independently, and at the same time a good team player. You combine research skills with a feel for the context of an art academy.
At least Ba-degree and academic level of thinking and working;
Demonstrable research skills, knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, and experience with (statistical) data processing;
Experience with (policy) advisory work;
Experience in quality management and in collecting and presenting management information, preferably in higher education;
Experience with (acquiring proficiency in) research software, online research, data processing and management;
Results-oriented, flexible attitude, focused on collaboration;
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and a clear reporting style, both in Dutch and English.
