We are currently looking for a DCS Commissioning Specialist in the framework of the pre-commissioning and commissioning of a large-scale hydrogen production facility in the Netherlands.
The assignment will start during the pre-commissioning phase, with the reception and energization of the DCS followed by the first loop checks. The DCS Commissioning Specialist will take the lead on all DCS-related activities and work closely with the site commissioning, E&I and process teams.
The position is site-based in the Netherlands, with occasional business trips in Europe.
The main duties are the following:

Lead all DCS-related pre-commissioning and commissioning activities on site.

Perform the reception, energization and initial verification of the DCS.

Verify the DCS configuration against project specifications, functional requirements and approved engineering documentation.

Perform and coordinate logic checks, functional checks and associated commissioning tests.

Work closely with the loop-check team to support field testing and troubleshoot DCS-related issues.

Analyse discrepancies identified during testing and determine the appropriate corrective actions.

Modify DCS configuration when required in order to comply with project specifications, including parameters such as ranges, sensor types and functional logic.

Support the commissioning of E&I systems and their interfaces with the DCS.

Read and interpret E&I documentation, including logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams and instrumentation hook-ups.

Read and interpret relevant process and piping documentation, including P&IDs, isometrics and associated technical documentation.

Support the commissioning of electrical equipment, electrical shelters and rotating equipment whenever required for DCS integration and functional testing.

Coordinate closely with the different commissioning disciplines to ensure proper sequencing and execution of activities.

Challenge existing technical solutions when necessary and propose practical solutions to resolve commissioning issues.

Ensure that all DCS checks and tests are performed in accordance with approved procedures, project requirements and applicable quality standards.

Complete and maintain all quality and commissioning documentation associated with on-site DCS checks and tests.

Monitor progress of DCS activities and provide clear reporting on completed works, outstanding issues and required actions.

Contribute to the overall commissioning planning and coordination of the project.

Work autonomously while maintaining effective cooperation with the wider site and commissioning teams.

Minimum 10 years of professional experience with DCS systems, preferably within industrial process, energy, hydrogen, Oil & Gas, petrochemical or similar projects.

Proven experience in DCS pre-commissioning and commissioning.

Strong experience in logic checks, functional testing, loop checks and troubleshooting.

Good experience with Yokogawa DCS systems is required.

Good knowledge of commissioning management and coordination.

Strong ability to read and interpret E&I documentation, including logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams and instrumentation hook-ups.

Good ability to read and interpret process and piping documentation, including P&IDs and isometrics.

Experience in the commissioning of E&I systems and electrical equipment.

Experience with rotating equipment commissioning would be an advantage.

Strong autonomy, leadership, teamwork and reporting skills.

Good command of standard digital and office tools.

Fluent English is mandatory.

Availability for a full-time, site-based assignment in the Netherlands.

The candidate must hold or be able to obtain the required site safety and electrical certifications applicable to the assignment.
