Application Technologist - Your future position?
As an Application Technologist in our Naarden site you will support customer projects, as well as research process by preparing and selecting flavours, offering guidelines related to flavour modifications and maintaining data relevant to flavour portfolio, according to EH&S policies and business needs.
The role includes a defined learning and development component, enabling the Application Technologist to build technical expertise, project ownership and crossfunctional collaboration skills through active project involvement.
Main responsibilities
Flavour Application

Prepare flavoured food products for customer projects, presentations and/or research projects

Select optimal flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e., customer, regulatory, legislation, cost)

Participate in evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations

Assist in tasting sessions and presentations to customers/visitors
Data Management
-
Manage flavour data and recipe documentation for food Products
-
Actively maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
Environmental Health & Safety

Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment in accordance with EH&S policies
Training & Development
- Participate in a structured on-the-job development framework designed to build technical, project and collaboration skills across multiple application areas

Receive hands-on training by actively supporting different beverages roadmap and innovation projects under guidance of experienced technologists

Gradually build technical competence through involvement in flavour selection, product preparation, evaluation, documentation and presentation activities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Marketing, Sensory, Regulatory) as part of the learning process, gaining exposure to the broader project lifecycle

Take increasing responsibility for defined sub-projects, including contributions to regional innovation and promotional initiatives, as experience and capability grow.
Your professional profile includes
-
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology
-
0 - 3 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area
-
Fluent English level
-
Understanding of most food ingredients when used in application
-
Understanding of multiple Givaudan food applications processes
-
Knowledge of most of our customers’ products and their production processes
-
Thorough understanding of financial aspects of flavour selection (cost-in-use, margins, etc.)

Tasting skills and ability to effectively describe the flavour profile of the product and provide direction to flavourists for flavour Modifications
-
Basic understanding of the most common flavour reactions/interactions in common food products • A basic understanding of project management
