Barista
Job summary The barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, beverages, and light refreshments while delivering excellent customer service. This role ensures that guests enjoy a welcoming and enjoyable experience, maintains cleanliness and organization at the coffee station, and supports overall restaurant operations. The barista reports to the restaurant manager.
Key responsibilities

Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages according to recipes and company standards.
o
Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
o
Provide friendly and professional service, engaging with guests and responding to their questions or preferences.
o
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, utensils, and equipment.
o
Monitor inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies; restock as needed.
o
Ensure proper handling, storage, and presentation of ingredients and beverages.
o
Process orders and payments accurately using the POS system.
o
Support preparation and serving of light refreshments or menu items when required.
o
Follow food safety, hygiene, and health standards at all times.
o
Collaborate with restaurant staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive guest experience.
o
Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, setup, and shutdown of equipment.
Qualifications & skills
o
Previous experience as a barista or in a coffee/restaurant environment is preferred.
o
Knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso machines, and beverage presentation.
o
Strong customer service and communication skills.
o
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
o
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
o
Basic math and familiarity with POS systems.
o
Reliability, teamwork, and a proactive attitude.
o
Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
