The role

In this role you make sure that our vessels are always in good technical and operational condition, in order to operate effectively around the world. You will manage a number of vessels in a small team and guide and assist the repair/maintenance team (including third parties). Your responsibilities will also include:

Planning and managing repairs and maintenance (both scheduled and breakdown) to maximize vessel uptime.
Preparing and executing maintenance and retrofit projects efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
Reviewing vessel’s applications and crew maintenance, both remotely and on board.

Having responsibility for the vessels requires flexibility and a proactive, hands-on attitude. You know that connection is key, and you are able to effectively communicate and collaborate with your colleagues, crew and third parties both in Dutch and English. Ideally, you live within 50km of Amsterdam and are willing to travel irregularly to visit vessels.

Your requirements

Completed Intermediate Vocational Nautical Education and a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar position.
Preferably, knowledge of the applicable occupational Health & Safety rules and Class / Flag state certificates.
Solid knowledge and technical interest in standard ship installations/outfitting (mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, etc.).
Possession of a valid driver's license (Category B).
