Function: Project Management Location: Sassenheim
About the Role As a CBRE Lead Project Management Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering consulting and project management services to the AkzoNobel account at the Sassenheim site, supporting the achievement of strategic business objectives.
The Sassenheim site includes production facilities, R&D laboratories, and offices, supporting specialized coatings for industries such as marine, aerospace, and automotive. The CBRE GWS team (approx. 25 FTE) delivers integrated FM services, including Hard Services, Soft Services, and Projects.
This role combines hands-on project delivery with leadership responsibilities. In addition to managing projects end-to-end, you will lead the on-site project team and act as a key member of the CBRE site management team.

What You’ll Do
Manage all aspects of project management for technical and FM-related projects from initiation through completion, including planning, design, execution, and close-out
Deliver a portfolio of projects with an annual value of €1.5M – €2M, with individual projects ranging from €10,000 to €650,000.
Oversee projects including HVAC systems, asset replacements, laboratory equipment, roofing, electrical systems, LED lighting, roadworks, security systems, and building renovations
Work directly with the client to define scope, budgets, schedules, and delivery strategies
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and project schedules, and ensure adherence throughout delivery
Define and procure project delivery resources, including managing RFP processes, bid evaluations, and supplier selection
Lead and coordinate contractors and suppliers during execution, ensuring performance, safety, and quality standards are met
Implement and maintain project governance, ensuring documentation is accurate, timely, and compliant with CBRE and client requirements
Track project progress, identify risks and deviations, and implement mitigation and contingency plans
Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on project status, costs, risks, and performance
Act as the primary interface between CBRE, AkzoNobel stakeholders, and external vendors
Lead, coach, and develop a project team of 2 direct reports.
Participate as Lead Projects in the CBRE site management team (4 FTE), contributing to overall site strategy and operations
Provide leadership oversight across site operations, indirectly influencing 15–21 employees within the CBRE team
Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and efficiency in project delivery processes
Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
5-8+ years of relevant experience in project management, preferably in technical, industrial, or FM environments
Strong technical knowledge of building systems and engineering projects (e.g., HVAC, electrical, infrastructure)
Proven leadership experience, including team management and stakeholder engagement
Strong financial and commercial acumen, with experience managing project budgets and cost control
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex or sensitive information
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and proactive mindset
Experience in risk management, including identifying and mitigating project risks
Ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive decision-making
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Certifications such as PMP, LEED AP, or CCM are a plus
