Overview
As a Microsoft Data Center Project Manager (DCPM), you will perform troubleshooting for service incidents, manage assigned projects to meet service delivery objectives as well escalate to appropriate stakeholders to remove obstacles. You will also follow safety policies and procedures and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents. This job will allow you to build a solid understanding of data center procedures, engage in collaboration across various teams as well as provide mentorship across data centers by sharing best practices.

As a CO+I DCPM, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

Lead sustainability, energy, and environmental programs across owned and leased datacenter sites.

Implement and continuously improve certified Environmental and Energy Management Systems (ISO 14001 / ISO 50001).

Drive operational performance through KPI management, executive reporting, audit readiness, and data-driven governance.

Lead sustainability and efficiency initiatives aligned with regional objectives and Microsoft’s 2030 commitments, including Carbon Negative, Water Positive, Zero Waste, and ecosystem protection goals.

Act as the primary site interface for audits, regulatory compliance, environmental governance, and sustainability reporting.

Maintain executive-level oversight of operational risks, incidents, compliance, and regional DC Operations initiatives.

Develop and maintain reporting frameworks and dashboards for WUE, PUE, IUE, emissions, audit status, and environmental performance metrics.

Drive cross-functional and cross-site alignment to ensure governance consistency, operational excellence, and standardized execution.

Support workforce and resource planning through operational forecasting and readiness management.

Lead initiatives focused on emissions reduction, biodiversity, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with clients, suppliers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to support effective delivery and risk reduction.

Ensure accountability for safety, security, availability, service quality, sustainability, and customer experience.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sustainable Energy Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field
Experience in mission-critical operations, including power, cooling, IT, and sustainability
Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems and compliance processes
Proven program and change management skills, with the ability to drive operational improvement

Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
Solid experience leading mission-critical datacenter operations, including power, cooling, IT, sustainability, and ESG programs across complex environments
Deep expertise in ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems, including audit readiness, KPI governance, compliance, and risk management

Experience establishing operational standards and scaling continuous improvement initiatives across teams or sites and driving workforce capability through structured programs and guidance
