The Bakery & Pizza Chef is responsible for the daily preparation and production of bakery items and pizzas, ensuring high-quality standards, food safety compliance, and efficient service. The role requires creativity, organisation, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Production & Preparation
Prepare and bake a variety of bakery products (bread, pastries, focaccia, etc.)
Prepare pizza dough from scratch, including mixing, proofing, and shaping
Prepare and assemble pizzas according to recipes and customer demand
Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality
Ensure consistent portioning and presentation standards
Quality & Food Safety
Follow all HACCP and food safety procedures at all times
Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients (FIFO)
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, ovens, and equipment
Monitor freshness and quality of raw materials
Operations & Organisation
Plan daily production based on forecast, menu, and demand
Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth service flow
Minimise waste and manage stock efficiently
Report any equipment issues or shortages promptly
Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
Support colleagues during peak hours and busy shifts
Train or guide junior staff or temporary workers when required
Proven experience as a bakery chef, pizza chef, or similar role
Knowledge of dough preparation, fermentation, and baking techniques
Familiar with food safety (HACCP) regulations
Ability to work independently and in a team
Good organisational and time-management skills
Hands-on and proactive attitude

Able to perform under pressure
